Growth & Development

An investment in the growth and development of our educators is an investment in our scholars. We know from years of research that the single greatest factor influencing the learning children do is the teacher who stands in front of them. Centered on this core understanding, we pour significant time, energy and resources into the professional development and coaching that each of our teacher’s receives.

What to expect at

U Prep

Below is a summary detailing several of these investments:

  • Weekly 1:1 personalized coaching with a Dean who deeply knows your grade level and content
  • Weekly professional development sessions within the school day focusing on a wide range of skills and knowledge (classroom culture, content knowledge building, instructional practices, data analysis & action planning, building relationships with families, scholars and community, etc.)
  • A Summer Institute that provides multiple weeks of deep-dive learning opportunities prior to the start of each school year (2 weeks for returning team members, 3 weeks for new team members)
  • Access to our Master Teacher Trajectory (MTT), which not only provides additional compensation ($ 1,000 – $ 5,000 in earnings for being great at what you do and staying in the classroom), but access to $1,000 – $5,000 in funds to be used for personalized PD (to be determined based on your needs and areas of interest)
